PeopleTools 8.57 will be generally available

Today, PeopleTools 8.57 will be generally available.  The improvements in 8.57 to help customers minimize the impact of customizations (with Drop Zone support), to get notified of alerts to business events (Personal Analytic Notifications), plus additional improvements to the development experience (Properties Window, Event Mapping indicator), not to mention the many additional enhancements in this release, continues to validate customer’s ongoing investments in PeopleSoft.

Oracle and the PeopleSoft development team are pleased to announce the general availability of Oracle’s PeopleTools 8.56.

The PeopleTools team is proud to announce the availability of PeopleTools 8.56.  This release has a number of key features that demonstrate Oracle's commitment of providing value to PeopleSoft customers.  Features in this release improve the user interface, providing the ability to have a unified look and feel, regardless of whether Fluid or Classic pages are used.  The Deployment Framework has been extended to additional platforms, allowing for greater automation.  PeopleSoft Cloud Manager provides greater functionality for maintaining and provisioning PeopleSoft environment.  The Search Engine has been overhauled, and you may have already seen it in features we made available in PeopleTools 8.55.  There is something here for everyone - enjoy! 

PeopleTools 8.56 is now available (new installations and PeopleTools-only upgrades) for download on OSDC (https://edelivery.oracle.com/), and/or physical shipment requests through Customer Care.

Marc Weintraub, Senior Director Peoplesoft Product Strategy and Developement, entrevista a  Paco Aubrejuan, Senior Vice President PeopleSoft Development, ambos de Oracle Corporación, sobre la estrategia de inversión de PeopleSoft. Aubrejuan explica que han estado muy ocupados con  Fluid UI, y el último año se han focalizado en PeopleTools, para ofrecer PeopleTools 8.54, que provee de   Fluid UI y 650 páginas y transacciones sobre Fluid UI. Responde a las necesidades de los clientes a que  PeopleSoft sea más intuitivo, más moderno y facilitando la movilidad. Esperan que en menos de 12 meses los clientes estén  usando Fluid User Interface.

También comenta sobre el cambio fundamental de modelo que representa  PeopleSoft Selective Adoption, en cuanto al coste asociado de las actualizaciones de PeopleSoft.  Ahora se distribuye un único código, sobre una única versión incluyendo todas las características nuevas, distribuyéndolas a lo largo del año a través de lo que denominan  PeopleSoft Images. La ventaja es que al hacer efectiva una de esas imágenes se obtienen todos los cambios acumulados, de forma que el cliente no tiene que volver sobre una anterior si no las actualizó.  Además en la entrevista se comenta sobre Fluid WorkCenters, PeopleTools 8.55, PeopleSoft Test Framework, PeopleSoft Update Manager, Software-as-a-Service, PeopleSoft Cloud Architecture…
